Shocking Killings in the
Holy Month of Ramadan
The Centre for Study of Society and
Secularism & Institute of Islamic Studies strongly condemned the
dastardly bomb blasts in Delhi on 29th October 2005 killing
innocent civilians, mostly women and children in the war of hatred,
revenge and violence. Such dastardly acts cannot pass off as religious
act much less as Jihad. In fact what is needed is Jihad against these
hatred mongers who perpetrate violence against innocent people in the
market place.
Killing in the holy month of Ramadan is
strictly prohibited in Islam and Ramadan is known as Shahrulla-al-Haraam
i.e. Allah’s month in which violence in strictly prohibited. Those who
perpetrates such violence in the name of Islam are real enemies of Islam
and are part of conspiracy to bring disgrace to Islam.
While strongly condemning such violence we urge upon the people of India
to remain united and should oppose such acts democratically and
peacefully. This will frustrate the very purpose for which such monster
cities are being committed.
Unfortunately a section of media has started
demanding law curtailing democratic rights of India people in the name
of security. Such an approach is fundamentally faulty and would amount
playing in the hands of those terrorist.
We should face such challenges in democratic
spirit and should uphold our democratic values at any cost. The
government and people of India need not panic and carry on in a normal
way, which is the best way to frustrate terrorist design against our
secular democracy.
